Massive Webserver DDoS being prepare?

Filed under: Shakk.Us, ddos, fc3, firefox, hack, http, server, worm — shakk @ 3:13 pm

I get massive access to my server's robots.txt recently (in all my other sites too). Anyone has any idea what is it?

It seems like a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) is being prepare or is that a new worm that hit Fedora Core 3?

server log

Strange server logs
From the logs, all those buggy visitors (different IP addresses) were bearing Fedora Core 3 User Agent and just grab the robots.txt and run away.

Getting My Google Analytics

Filed under: Shakk.Us, Webmastery Stuff, analytics, counter, google, invite, webmaster — shakk @ 4:00 pm

This is perhaps the best thing I got from Google after my domain in gmail. Yes, it's written in the title, I've got Google Analytics invitation. I believe no webmaster could resist the lure of the powerful Analytics.

analytics invite

The most excited email of the month.

YES!!

The most definate answer.

signing up

Boring and lengthy signing up procedures.

This time, getting Analytics invitation has no tips tough. I've sent my email almost half a year ago, and only get it today. Guess they have schedule releasing invitation code to the signing up email for this.

Spammer? Who’s the spammer?

Filed under: Shakk.Us, blogging, blogspot, email, spam, wordpress — shakk @ 7:02 pm

I have a secondary email on Yahoo, mostly used for signing up free services e.g. website submission, forum, social bookmarking etc, which I will check this email in an irregular basis.

So today I opened my yahoo mail, there was nothing interesting in my in-box besides most of them were SEO tips, geek news, financial news and more of them were pharmacist that phailed their college (yes, they spell viagra as vl4gr4). So I decided to further look into my bulk mail box to look for some tips to enlarge my cojones and guess what I found? An email from Blogger!

Bulk email from blogger

email from blogger

Spam mail notifying me of not spamming?

Puzzled yet I decided to unlock my space at blogspot as I think someday I might utilize it and I just want to reserve it first. Besides, that account is also used to leave comment for some blogger that only allow blogger account to comment.

Unlock shakkus.blogspot.com

So I can read captcha and type it correctly, I'm definitely a human, not a automated submission machine right?

So what's make them think I'm a spambot? I head to their link there to find out more on how blogspot in fighting spam.

Blogspot spam policy

so irrelevant, repetitive, nonsensical text, large number of links is spam

Following their rules in classify spam, I think my another temporary blogspot space, which used primarily to store some funny images, jokes, rare occasion pictures, etc that I received daily in my mail box for submission at the moment since our member is rather passive and submission rate is rather low. But instead they decided to block my other blog. Which only has 2 post , and 5 links. :|

Having my captcha keyed in correctly, my blog is still locked, I've decided to write something on it to make them know I'm more human than I could ever be:

I'm human

Yeah! I'm human bean

And one suggestion for the guys in Blogger.com, next time write your notification in the following fashion in order to get into my Inbox correctly insteat of Bulk:

Bl09ger N0+1ce HttP://sh4kKus.8L09sp0+.COM.

If only I could get shakk.blogspot.com at the first time, I'm already blogging in there. Luckily i didn't, because I found wordpress.com way more powerful besides the frequent maintenance downtime.

Update 2006-05-08

I'm clean and continueing on blogspot.com

settled
