It is generally unfair to label websites having voting facilities as 'digg clone' since we don't label every phpBB site as vBulletin or InvisionBB or [insert a proprietary forum] clone just because they provide the same functionality.
Ok, enough for the rambling. Shakk.Us was built around the famous open source package 'pligg' which provides user submission/voting functionality, but it is also possible to create a digg-a-like site using the famous open-source content management system (CMS) – drupal 4.7.
Vote up/down is a drupal 4.7 module that provides functionality and user interface resembles digg or pligg.
A demo site is available here in Swedish. Vote up and down is there without ability to un-vote. You can login with your existing drupal account.

My favorite digg clone, is http://leetdaily.com. It’s a news site strictly for gaming, but puts a twist on diggs by giving articles a Leet Percentage Rating. Really cool and innovative.

Hi guys. I’m new to this PLIGG, DIGG, Drupal stuff.
I’ve been trying to do some research here and choose the best CMS to create a DIGG-like website.
As far as I know it would be hard to have 1 username to login both onto a PLIGG-powered website and a PHPbb-powered forum on the same domain (like http://www.pliig.com and http://www.pliig.com/forum), the user would have to login to the main website and then, login again to the forum, right?
Now, building this website with Drupal (that, as I understand, has a built-in forum) would solve teh multiple login problem, right?
Anyways, this takes me back to my initial question: what are the advantages and disadvantages of creating a DIGG-like website with PLIGG or Drupal?
